The volume of exports to the European Union decreased after Brexit
Vehicles return from Britain without cargo.
The volume of exports passing through British ports to the European Union in January decreased by 68 percent compared to the same month last year. This emerges from a survey by the Road Haulage Association (RHA), which deals with the issue of British road freight transport.
The head of the organization, Richard Burnett, told Sunday's The Observer that it found that 65 to 75 percent of vehicles coming to the European Union return from
Britain without cargo. The
news.sky.com portal informs about it.
Burnett said, "It is very frustrating and annoying that ministers have chosen not to listen to industry and experts who have consistently called for more government consultation."
Burnett also said the number of British customs declarants had to be increased to help companies with additional administrative work.
According to him, the current number of approximately 10,000 customs declarants is only about one-fifth of what the RHA said was necessary.
