The WEF Meeting Brings Together 2,500 Global Business Leaders

The World Economic Forum (WEF), which has been postponed for two years due to the pandemic, is taking place in Davos, Switzerland, between 22-26, with the gathering of the names that shape the global politics and business world.

“Rebuilding societal confidence”, “use and effectiveness of sanctions”, “energy outlook; It is anticipated that 50 state leaders, 300 government representatives and approximately 2,500 global business officials will attend the forum, where important issues such as overcoming the crisis” and “preventing the global food crisis” will take place. This meeting, which has been postponed due to the epidemic for two years and where the leaders can come together in 2022, “The date at the turning point; It will be organized with the theme of “Government Policies and Business Strategies.” European Central Bank (ECB) President Christine Lagarde, European Union (EU) Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, EU Parliament Speaker Roberta Metsola, Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo, Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov, Colombian President Ivan Duque, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will take part. Other important names envisaged to attend the meeting included Iraqi President Barham Salih, Iraqi Kurdish Regional Government President Nechirvan Barzani, Israeli President Isaac Herzog, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamed Al Sani. Messages from world leaders and business representatives at this year's meeting are of great importance at a time when global inflation pressures increase, growth forecasts are reduced, geopolitical tensions and commodity prices rise. Klaus Schwab, President of the World Economic Forum (WEF), shared the following note about the meeting that will take place this year: “The Annual Meeting is the first summit to bring together global leaders in this new situation characterized by a multipolar world that has emerged as a result of the epidemic and war. A gathering of approximately 2,500 leaders from politics, business, civil society and the media, focused on crisis It demonstrates the need for a credible, informal and action-oriented global platform to confront problems in the world.” The foundations of the World Economic Forum were laid in 1971 by economics professor Klaus Schwab. Born in Ravensburg, Germany in 1938, Schwab was a little-known professor of economics at the University of Geneva when he founded the European Management Forum, which formed the foundation of the WEF, in 1971. Some non-governmental organizations in Europe claim that the WEF is "totally dependent" on the nearly 1,000 companies that support its activities.
