According to the news in Bloomberg, progress has been made in the talks that have been going on for twenty four hours in London, but it is reported that the disputes are still continuing on fishing and fair competition environment. The two officials, who were aware of the talks, stated that it was impossible to predict the result clearly and that the attitude of both sides was optimistic despite the disagreements.
EU Brexit Chief negotiator Michel Barnier will inform the diplomats of EU member states about the progress of the negotiations today.
Emphasizing that the next few days are important, the officials said that the UK and the EU could reach an agreement on Friday or weekend.
According to the information provided, the European Union (
EU) negotiation team thinks that going with a different proposal, other than submitting a signed agreement to both parties, will put the talks back into a deadlock.
The Brexit negotiations, which have been going on with ups and downs since March, should end a few days before the UK leaves the Single European Market on December 31st.
