Treasury to Issue Lease Certificate in Dollars

The Ministry of Treasury and Finance will issue a lease certificate with a dollar denominated fixed lease payment dated 28 February tomorrow.   According to the announcement on the website of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, on February 28, 2020, a dollar-fixed fixed-rent lease certificate will be issued in the domestic market to contribute to the banks' foreign currency asset management and development of the lease certificate market. The issuance of the lease certificate will be made to the banks by direct sales method and the requests will have to be sent to the Ministry by fax or e-mail until February 26, 14:00. To the banks that are eligible for lease certification, the information on the sales amounts will be communicated by the Central Bank via IHS (Central Bank Payment Systems tender system) on February 26. The amounts that banks must deposit on the value day in exchange for issuing lease certificates must be transferred to the ministry's accounts with the Central Bank by 28 February 13.30 at the latest. Investors will be able to access the information regarding these lease certificates from the "Euro Type Lease Certificate Investor Guide" available on the "Public Finance-Information for Investors-Lease Certificate" link of the Ministry's website. On the other hand, the Ministry announced the results of the bond auction held yesterday on its website. According to the announcement, a fixed coupon government bond with a 2-year (602 days) term, with a coupon payment of 6 months, was re-issued. The periodic interest in the bond auction was 5.75 percent. In the tender, where 1 billion 100 million lira offers of public institutions were met, 1 billion 761 million lira offers were received from market makers and 800 million liras were sold to this segment.
