Trump Nominated Amy Coney Barret as Supreme Court Judge
US President Donald Trump nominated Judge Amy Coney Barret of the 7th District Court of Appeals to replace
Supreme Court Judge Ruth Bader Ginsbur at a press conference held at the White House.
Making a statement on the subject, Trump used the expressions for Barret: "A woman with unmatched success, high intelligence, excellent competence and loyalty to the constitution."
Amy Coney Barret, who is present at the White House with her family, said that she was honored to be nominated as a judge of the Supreme Court and stated that she would be sensitive to those who appeared before her if approved by the Senate.
Judge Barret said, “A judge has to apply the laws as written. The judges are not policy makers and have to set aside their political views. ''
Judge Barrett will take up her life-long mandate after a vote in the Senate.
