Turkey Hosted German Tourists The Most
Turkey hosted German tourists the most this summer. The highest number of German tourists came to the country between January and August.
In the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic that affected the whole world, the normalization process started in June. With the resumption of flights in June, many tourists chose Turkey for holidays from different countries.
According to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism statistics on border entry and exit, Turkey drew less tourists in the first 8 months of the year over the same period last year by 76.6 percent. Coronavirus (Covidien-19) induced a result of this decrease, a total of 7 million 255 thousand 107 foreign tourists came to Turkey.
Between the months of January to August of 2 million 16 thousand 553 Turkish citizens living abroad came to Turkey, with a total of 9 million 271 thousand 660 people have arrived in Turkey.
The Most Visitors Arrived in August
Turkey, the first 8 months of the year received more foreign tourists from Germany. Germany ranked first with 789 thousand 602 people, while the Russian Federation came second with 772 thousand 686 people. Bulgaria, on the other hand, took the third place in the list with 532 thousand 417 people.
While 520 thousand 833 tourists came from Ukraine, which followed Bulgaria, England followed Ukraine with 465 thousand 180 people.
7 million 255 thousand 107 foreign tourists coming to Turkey, made entry into the country of 2 million 962 thousand sector and 396 in the three-month period between June-August period.
214 thousand 768 of these tourists came in June, 932 thousand 927 in July, and 1 million 814 thousand 701 in August.
German and Russian tourists preferred Antalya, while British tourists preferred Bodrum, Marmaris and Aydın's Kuşadası districts. In Turkey, most preferred cities were Antalya, Mugla and Istanbul.
