Twitter Investment by CEO Changpeng Zhao
CEO Changpeng Zhao recorded a $500 million investment in social media giant Twitter.
Changpeng Zhao, CEO of
Binance, the world's largest and preferred
crypto exchange, invested $500 million in Twitter after Elon Musk bought Twitter. He noted that the main reason for this investment decision was that Twitter supports freedom of expression.
Speaking at the opening event of Europe's largest technology conference Web Summit in Lisbon, Zhao said, "The number one reason we invested is that Twitter is an important free speech platform. We want to support this freedom of expression.”
Famous businessman Elon Musk laid off many employees, including top executives, after buying the company.
Binance CEO CZ, who said he is an active Twitter user, underlined that Binance plans to be a long-term investor in the platform. Elon Musk also announced on Tuesday that Twitter would charge users $8 for a blue tick badge. Zhao, on the other hand, said he supported this idea.
When asked about other changes Musk could make to the platform, Zhao commented, "Elon Musk is a very difficult man to predict."
