It was stated that this decision was taken on the grounds that Trump had the risk of calling for more violence. Twitter security team made a statement on the subject. The statement in question included the following statements:

“After taking a close look at the recent messages Trump shared on his account and their context, and especially how these posts were reacted, we suspended this account permanently due to the risk of provoking more violence.”

In the statement emphasizing that Twitter allows the public to hear the voice of elected officials and world leaders, following expressions were used; “We have made it clear that in recent years, the accounts of leaders are not superior to our rules and they cannot use Twitter to spread violence.” After the Congress raid that took place in the USA on Wednesday, the Twitter administration suspended Trump's account for 12 hours and announced that the account would be closed if the posts that encouraged violence continued.
