UK and Canada Signed the Trade Agreement
UK and
Canada signed the trade agreement. The two countries will continue to trade after Brexit.
According to the news in Bloomberg HT, UK and Canada signed a continuity agreement in order to continue the flow of goods and services of 27 billion dollars between the two countries after Brexit. Thus, the two countries have guaranteed to further strengthen the existing ties next year.
As it is known, UK leaves the European Union at the end of the year. The country is continuing negotiations to make bilateral trade agreements with different countries, which will be activated after leaving the union until then. Most of these talks are aimed at maintaining the conditions that prevailed as an EU member.
British Minister of Trade Lizz Truss said the following in her statement:
“The agreement signed today clinches £ 20 billion worth of trade and thousands of jobs.”
Prime Minister Boris Johnson is also trying to rebuild the global image of Britain and show that it can achieve better deals than with the EU.
The trade agreement between the UK and Canada will be subject to a final legal review before being formalized.
