Us Added 273,000 Jobs in February Unemployment Rate Drops to 3.5 %
The U.S. economy added a net 273,000 jobs in February, according to statistics released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, which are among the most anticipated on the financial markets calendar. It also lifted January's estimated employment growth of 225,000 to 273,000, exceeding 48,000.
As a result of these statistics, the unemployment rate fell from 3.6% to 3.5%. The labor force participation rate was 63.4%.
Average hourly earnings growth managed to rise again to 0.3% in January, just after seeing 0.2%, the lowest level in the past year.
