US Republicans Call for Election Control
An election control call came from the US Republicans. Ten Republican senators want the elected representatives for each state to be examined.
Ted Cruz and 10 Republican senators stated that they would oppose the presidency of
US elected president Joe Biden in the Electoral College vote on January 6th. However, it is said that this move is only symbolic and cannot be an obstacle to the presidency of
Joe Biden.
In the statement by Ted Cruz and other senators, it was stated that the state electors would reject their vote, and the US Congress was requested to establish a commission and conduct an urgent 10-day audit.
“When the oversight process is complete, each state should evaluate the findings of the commission and initiate a legal process accordingly, and if necessary, change the votes," the senators said in a statement.
In the statement in question, no information was given about which states will be subject to control.
Derek Muller, a law professor at the University of Iowa, stated that insisting on such an audit is only a political move and will not affect the election results.
