Estimates of the 43 economists surveyed came between 750,000 and 860,000.
According to the 4-week moving averages, unemployment benefit applications were recorded as 866,300 in the week of October 10.
Data released last week has been revised from 840,000 to 845,000.
Continuing unemployment benefits fell by 1.165,000 on the week of October 3 to 10,018,000. This data was expected to occur at the level of 10,550,000. Last week's data was changed from 10,976,000 to 11,183,000.
