VISA RESTRICTION TO HUAWEI EMPLOYEES
In a written statement, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced that some Chinese technology companies that provide support to regimes that commit human rights violations at the global level impose visa restrictions and a ban on entry to the country. Stating that the visa restriction and ban will be applied to some Huawei employees who support the "Chinese Communist Party regime's human rights violations", Pompeo stated that the company was the surveillance weapon of the Chinese government, censored political opponents and supported "concentration camps" in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. Pompeo previously stated that the Chinese Communist Party's human rights abuses are at the top of the world. Pompeo described Huawei as a "branch" of the Chinese Communist Party, which censored political opponents and made large-scale detentions in camps in Xinjiang. "Some Huawei employees provide material support to the Chinese Communist Party regime that committed human rights violations.
