8,000 electric charging stations from Volkswagen Group and BP.

Volkswagen group and BP announced that they will establish 8 thousand new electric charging stations by the last months of 2024 within the scope of Europe. According to the German automotive company, by 2030, electric vehicles would account for 70% of its sales.

Volkswagen Group and BP will install 8,000 new charging stations in Germany, the UK and some European countries by the end of 2024. These two giant companies underline that they aim to facilitate the transition to electric cars. The new charger spots will be available on VW group cars (including Seat and Skoda) and via in-car apps. The expanding BP charging network will be integrated into the dashboards of Volkswagen, Skoda, and Seat vehicles. Drivers will be able to locate the nearest charging station at BP in a very short time this way. The first charging station, implemented by BP and Volkswagen Group, began service in Düsseldorf, Germany. In Germany and the United Kingdom, up to 4,000 electric car charging stations are expected to be available within 24 months. The two corporations will be able to explore further investment prospects in environmentally friendly transportation as a result of their collaboration. As VW accelerates its electrification plans, it also expects 70 percent of its sales to be from electric vehicles by 2030. Due to increasing customer demand, electric vehicle manufacturers need a comprehensive charging network. Meanwhile, BP is trying to change its reputation as an oil and gas giant in favor of becoming an "integrated energy company." This joint investment will help BP transform gas stations into EV charging stations faster than on its own.
