Volodymyr Zelensky made statements about the negotiations that will take place in Istanbul after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Zelensky said, "We have a new round of negotiations ahead of us because we are looking for peace. As I have been told, there is an opportunity and a need for face-to-face meetings in Turkey. This is not bad. Let's see the result."
Expressing that they aim to leave these difficult days behind as soon as possible, the President of Ukraine stated that the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine is indisputable and effective security guarantees are mandatory for his state.
Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov stated that face-to-face negotiations with Ukraine will start again in Istanbul and said, "We hope that the negotiations will conclude successfully."
According to the news reflected in the Ukrainian press, 16,600 soldiers of the Russian army were killed. 121 aircraft, 127 helicopters, 582 tanks, 1664 armored vehicles, 294 cannons, 93 rocket launch systems, and 52 air defense systems belonging to the Russian army were destroyed during the occupation process. Russian forces also lost 1144 vehicles, 7 ships and light speedboats, 73 fuel vehicles and 56 drones.
