Warren Buffett's Preferred High-Yielding 2 Dividend Shares - Verizon Communications
2- Verizon Communications
Berkshire's biggest contribution in the 4th quarter was after a position was launched at Verizon Communications (NYSE: VZ). Buffett and his team were so enthusiastic about the telecom giant that Berkshire bought nearly $ 9 billion in Verizon's stake.
So why did Buffett choose Verizon?
We can definitely say that the company appreciates its dividend standard. While Verizon is not a dividend king, it has come to the present day by steadily increasing its dividend payment for 14 years. The approximately 4.5 percent dividend brought by the telecom leader makes Berkshire's money far more profitable than investing in other market accounts.
Verizon is also looking to lead in high-speed 5G networks.
Buffett may not be an expert on autonomous vehicles and items that connect to the Internet, but he certainly understands the importance of a solid infrastructure.
Verizon's 5G infrastructure is huge and continues to grow.
Despite the 5G expectations, we don't see Verizon as a major growth stock at this point. However, it is likely to be a pretty good choice for investors looking for regular income.
