What Happened in Borsa Istanbul Today?

The index of the 100 highest stocks (BIST 100) in terms of market and trading volume traded in Borsa Istanbul lost momentum in the recovery process by seeing a slight decline yesterday. In the transactions recorded today, the stock market, which moved more sellers in the stock market, took its place at 3,523 points with a loss of more than 1% towards the closing. The daily trading volume in the index exceeded 55 billion TL.

12.10.2022 BIST 100 index, which started Wednesday with a plus of half a point, experienced sales throughout the day, while sector indices also attracted attention with their negative movement. Towards the close, the Wood, Paper and Printing index remained positive with a partial increase of 1.3%. Tourism and information technology had a low rise of 0.5%, while other indices continued in negative territory. The most depreciated index of the day was telecommunications with a decline of nearly 4%. Factoring, holding and metal products were announced as the most declining stocks with a decrease of 2%. Banks were moving above the 3,300 point limit as they were heading towards the closing with a loss of close to 1% today. Losses in the industrial index exceeded 1%, while construction and SMEs were down by 0.6%.
