Xiaomi made a cryptocurrency statement. Manu Kumar Jain said they will implement a "wait and see" strategy.
China-based technology company
Xiaomi also showed that it is interested in cryptocurrencies with its latest statement. Manu Kumar Jain, the company's global vice president, said in a statement that the cryptocurrency industry is exciting and they are closely following the developments. Jain used the following statements:
"There's a lot of regulatory issues and we want to see what's going on here. This industry is very interesting and we can say it's the biggest mod cryptocurrencies right now. The industry is doing well too, but we want to look more at the regulatory side."
Stating that they serve in many jurisdictions, Jain said that they want to be 100 percent compatible with regulators in these different regions.
To recall, earlier this month, news spread that a branch of Xiaomi in Portugal was accepting payments with Bitcoin. Following these news, a spokesperson from Xiaomi reported that the company that accepts cryptocurrency payments is a third-party vendor with no affiliation with them.
Given that the company is based in China and China's policy towards cryptocurrencies has been toughened in recent months,
Xiaomi is not expected to provide this integration, at least in the short term.
