Yatağan Thermal
Power Plant, a domestic coal-fired power plant, will rely on hybrid energy. The solar power facility, which has an installed capacity of 85 MW, will now become a hybrid power plant, according to reports.
With the installation of the solar power plant, the Thermal Power Plant, which currently runs on domestic coal and is one of the three major electricity producing facilities in Southwest Anatolia, will now run on solar energy. A solar power plant with a capacity of 85 MW will be built for this purpose, according to reports. A budget of around 1.1 billion liras has been set aside for the SPP to be added to lignite-fired power plant, operated by Yatağan Thermal Energy Generation Inc. which has a capacity of 666 MW and is located within the Menteşe district's borders.
In the prepared project, it was stated that 3 separate SPPs will be installed as an auxiliary source for the Yatağan Thermal Power Plant. These areas are located within the Tinaz Enterprises Mining Field (IV. Group) belonging to EÜAŞ, located in the Menteşe district Kafaca Neighborhood and connected to the Thermal Power Plant. It is stated that 185 thousand solar panels will be used in the power plants.
The power plant is expected to produce an average of 223 million kWh of electricity per year.
