Armenia will Replace Turkish Goods with Iranian Goods
Armenia will replace Turkish goods with Iranian goods. Country, where goods previously imported from Turkey will be imported from
Iran.
An official from the Iran Trade Promotion Organization said that Armenia has announced 2,250 items of Turkish goods will be replaced with Iranian goods.
Iranian official organization said, “Armenia is planning to import 2 thousand 250 items which were previously imported from Turkey from Iran because of Turkey's sanctions.” Stating that this will be a good opportunity for Iranian manufacturers, the official explained that they expect Armenia to supply its raw material needs from Iran in the future.
Armenian management, had been suspended the import of Turkish goods for six months after Turkey's military support to the Republic of Azerbaijan. This sanction was adopted on October 20, 2020, came into effect on January 1, 2021. The ban does not include the goods and materials required for the manufacture of goods produced by Armenia itself.
Import Ban Will Not Increase Prices
The
Ministry of Economy of Armenia stated that the ban on imports of Turkish goods will not increase prices, consumption of Turkish goods is not concentrated in Armenia, and the government can substitute imported Turkish goods with goods from countries such as Iran, Belarus, Russia and China.
