Inflation Was 14.6 Percent in 2020 According to the data announced by TURKSTAT, inflation was 14.6 percent in 2020. The annual increase in the producer price index was recorded as 25.15 percent. Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) announced inflation rates seen in Turkey in 2020. According to the announced data, inflation was recorded as 14.6. According to the data announced by TURKSTAT, the consumer price index in December increased by 14.6 percent compared to the same period of 2019 and 1.25 percent compared to the previous month. In December, the producer price index was recorded as 25.15 percent on an annual basis and 2.36 percent on a monthly basis. Core inflation was 14.30 percent in December. The highest increase on an annual basis was observed in various goods and services groups with 28.12 percent. It was followed by the transportation group with 21.12 percent, and the food and soft drinks group with 20.61 percent. On a monthly basis, the highest increase was in the household goods group with 3.46 percent. Transportation of household goods with 2.64 percent followed by food and soft drinks with 2.53 percent. Eggplant experienced the highest monthly increase with 47.92 percent. Cucumber followed eggplant with 25.62 percent and white cabbage with 18.88 percent.
