“Aviation Industry Will Grow In 2022” Aviation Management Department Faculty Member Assoc. Dr. Vahap Önen said, “The aviation industry will grow in 2022.” Following the outbreak of the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak in December 2019, all industries received major blows. However, one of the sectors worst affected by the coronavirus epidemic was undoubtedly the aviation industry. The aviation industry suffered great losses as a result of suspended flights due to the closure or restriction of borders. In a period of economic recovery, discussions began about how the future of the aviation industry will be. For this purpose, Istanbul Rumeli University Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences Department of Aviation Management Faculty Member Assoc. Dr. Vahap Önen spoke to TRT. Stating that the aviation industry is one of the most dynamic sectors, Önen used the following statements: “Even if the aviation sector was adversely affected by the epidemic in the world in 2019 and 2020, it will start to recover slowly on the summer of 2021. It will continue to grow globally again from the first quarter of 2022. This growth is expected to be more pleasurable in our country.”   New Investments To Be Made In The Aviation Sector Pointing out that air cargo transportation, air taxi and ambulance services and business jet aircraft maintenance services were positively affected during the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic, Önen said: “We anticipate that 3 new air taxi companies are currently in the license phase, many airports under construction will be completed within a few years and new investments will be made in the field of aviation in the future.”
