China Sold 25 Million Cars in 2020
China sold 25 million cars in 2020. China, which sold 25 million cars this year, is pioneering the recovery in the automotive industry.
Approximately 25 million vehicles were sold in China, which has the world's largest automotive market.
China Automobile Manufacturers Association (CAAM) Vice President Fu Bingfeng stated at a conference held in Beijing that CAAM expects 20 million passenger cars and 5 million commercial vehicles to be sold this year. Last year, 25.77 million vehicles were sold in China.
Bai Hua, Minister of Industry and Information Technology of China, stated that they are planning to sell 1.3 million "new energy vehicles" (NEV) in 2020. 1.2 million NEVs were sold in 2019.
CAAM also noted that they expect car sales to rise gradually to 30 million units by 2025.
While the global automotive industry was hit hard by the coronavirus outbreak, China became a source of hope for manufacturers such as Volkswagen, General Motors, Toyota and Honda.
