Biden took office in January.
In the statement made by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, it was stated that a "helpful, sincere and constructive" meeting took place within the framework of mutual respect.
US Trade Representative said, "Trade Representative Katherine Tai shared the trade policy of the Biden-Harith administration, her observations on the US-China trade relations and various concerns on this issue."
The US and China made a partial trade agreement last year, but the two countries still have billions of dollars in additional customs duties.
China has not yet met some of its commitments in the deal.
The new government in the USA is reassessing its attitude towards China, but no significant change has yet been observed in this policy initiated by former President Donald Trump. On the other hand, there are signals that there will be some changes.
