BIST 100 Closed The Day With An Increase

BIST 100 index closed the day with an increase. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul closed the day at 2,230.15 points with 1.07 percent gain.

At the end of the day, the total transaction volume in the BIST 100 index, which increased by 23.65 points compared to the previous close, was recorded as 33.9 billion TL. At the close, the banking index gained 1.58 percent, while the holding index gained 1.16 percent. Among the sector indices, financial leasing and factoring were the most profitable with 4.15 percent, while the most decline was recorded on tourism with 3.19 percent. European Central Bank (ECB) President Christine Lagarde stated that if the war between Russia and Ukraine lasts for a long time, the economic cost will be high, said, "Europe is entering a difficult period. In the short term, we will face higher inflation and slower economic growth." Analysts said that the risk appetite in the markets decreased again and that the progress made in the negotiations on the Russia-Ukraine war was overshadowed as investors started to reevaluate the inflation outlook and monetary policy tightening. Tomorrow, weekly money and bank statistics and foreign trade balance in the country, personal incomes and expenditures in the USA and weekly unemployment benefit applications, growth in England, industrial production in Japan will be monitored closely. It was stated that the levels of 2.150 and 2.130 are in the support position and the level of 2.300 stands out as the resistance for the BIST 100 index.
