BIST 100 Closed Tuesday With An Increase

BIST 100 index closed Tuesday with an increase. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul closed the day at 2,206.50 points with 1.57 percent gain.

At the end of the day, the total transaction volume in the BIST 100 index, which increased by 34.02 points compared to the previous close, was recorded as 41.5 billion TL. At the close, the banking index gained 0.8 percent, while the holding index gained 3.67 percent. Among the sector indices, transportation was the highest earner with 7.85 percent, and the most decline was recorded on mining with 1.71 percent. Risk appetite in global markets increased significantly as the news from the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul increased the optimism towards peace. Analysts stated that although the war between Russia and Ukraine continues to be the main risk factor for global stock markets, the positive news about the negotiations has eroded the risk perception. Stating that the European Central Bank (ECB) President Christine Lagarde's speech will be at the center of the markets tomorrow, the analysts said that the economic confidence index in the country, growth abroad in the USA, ADP employment report, inflation in Germany, consumer confidence index in the Eurozone will be monitored closely. It was stated that the levels of 2.150 and 2.130 are in the support position and the level of 2.300 stands out as the resistance for the BIST 100 index.
