BIST 100 Index Closed the Day with a Fall on August 19

BIST 100 index closed the day with a fall on August 19. BIST 100 index depreciated by 0.67 percent in Borsa Istanbul and ended the day with 1,439.86 points.

At the end of the day, the total transaction volume in the BIST 100 index, which decreased by 9.73 points compared to the previous closing, was recorded as 12.3 billion liras. While the banking index depreciated by 1.30 percent at the close, the holding index depreciated by 1.05 percent. Among the sector indices, mining was the highest earner with 2.56 percent, while the most decline was recorded on metal main industry with 2.10 percent. Analysts said that after the minutes of the last meeting of the US Federal Reserve (FED), released yesterday evening, increased the possibility that a decrease in asset purchases could begin this year, a sales-oriented course was followed in the global equity markets. It was stated that tomorrow, the foreign producer price index in the country, the 1 and 5-year lending rates of the Central Bank of China, the Producer Price Index (PPI) in Germany and retail sales data in the UK will be monitored closely. In technical terms, analysts stated that the levels of 1.440 and 1.410 are in the support position and the level of 1.470 stands out as the resistance for the BIST 100 index.
