BIST 100 index started Thursday with a fall on August 19. BIST 100 index lost 0.57 percent in Borsa Istanbul and started the day with 1,441.38 points.
At the beginning of the day, the
BIST 100 index, which decreased by 8.21 points and 0.57 percent compared to the previous close, fell to 1,441.38 points.
While the banking index lost 0.78 percent at the opening, the holding index lost 0.79 percent. Among the sector indices, tourism was the highest earner with 0.71 percent, while the most decline was recorded on holding.
Yesterday, the BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul ended the day at 1,449.59 points with a 0.83 percent depreciation, acting mainly on sales.
Analysts said that after the minutes of the last meeting of the US Federal Reserve (
FED), released yesterday evening, increased the possibility that the decrease in asset purchases could begin this year, a sales-oriented course was followed in the global stock markets. Stating that investors are focusing on guidance on the timing and size of the first step to be taken in reducing their asset purchases in the next period, analysts noted that the importance of the Jackson Hole meeting to be held at the end of the month has increased in this context. It was stated that today, intense data flow will be monitored worldwide.
In technical terms, analysts stated that the levels of 1.440 and 1.410 are in the support position and the level of 1.470 stands out as the resistance for the BIST 100 index.
