BIST 100 Index Closed the Day with Losses
BIST 100 index closed the day with losses. BIST 100 index depreciated by 0.43 percent in Borsa Istanbul and ended the day at 1,401.46 points.
At the end of the day, the total transaction volume in the
BIST 100 index, which decreased by 6.00 points compared to the previous closing, was recorded as 18.1 billion liras.
At the closing, the banking index lost 2.61 percent, while the holding index lost 0.78 percent. Among the sector indices, construction was the highest earner with 2.32%, while the most decline was recorded on banking.
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) Monetary Policy Committee (PPK) cut the one-week repo auction rate, which is the policy rate, by 100 basis points to 18 percent. In the CBRT announcement, following statements took place; "The Board decided to reduce the policy rate after evaluating the analyzes on the effects of demand factors, core inflation and supply shocks."
Analysts said that the news flow about the Chinese company Evergrande affected the markets.
It is stated that the statements of the US Federal Reserve and Bank of England officials will be followed tomorrow, while the real sector confidence index, capacity utilization rate, sectoral confidence index in the country, inflation abroad in Japan, Ifo indices in Germany, new house sales in the USA will be monitored closely.
In technical terms, it was stated that the level of 1.390 is in a position of support and the level of 1.420 stood out as the resistance for the
BIST 100 index.
