BIST 100 Index Closed Thursday with a Decrease

BIST 100 index closed Thursday with a decrease. BIST 100 index depreciated by 1.27% in Borsa Istanbul and ended the day with 1,372.98 points.

At the end of the day, the BIST 100 index, which recorded a decrease of 17.60 points compared to the previous closing, recorded a total transaction volume of 10.8 billion liras. At the closing, the banking index depreciated by 1.20 percent, while the holding index depreciated by 1.21 percent. Among the sector indices, construction was the highest earner with 0.39 percent, while the most decline was recorded on main metal industry with 2.73 percent. Analysts stated that the reports of the last meeting of the US Federal Reserve (Fed) published yesterday revealed that the uncertainties about the decrease in asset purchases will occupy the agenda for a long time, even if the asset purchases continue. It is stated that tomorrow, the balance of payments and market participants survey in the country, the statements of the European Central Bank (ECB) President Christine Lagarde, inflation in China, growth and industrial production in the UK will be closely monitored. In technical terms, it was stated that levels of 1.400 and 1.440 are in the resistance position and the level of 1,350 stands out as support for the BIST 100 index.
