BIST 100 Index Closed Thursday with a Fall
BIST 100 index closed Thursday with a fall. BIST 100 index gained 2.38 percent in Borsa Istanbul and ended the day at 1,444.46 points.
At the end of the day, the total transaction volume in the
BIST 100 index, which increased by 33.59 points compared to the previous closing, was recorded as 15.8 billion TL.
At the closing, the banking index gained 2.85 percent, while the holding index gained 2.28 percent. Among the sector indices, financial leasing and factoring were the highest earners with 3.86 percent, while the most decline was recorded on SME Industry with 0.76 percent.
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey’s (
CBRT) Monetary Policy Committee kept the one-week repo rate, which is the policy rate, at 19 percent.
After the CBRT's interest rate decision, the USD/TL rate decreased from 8.56 to 8.5075. The BIST 100 index also increased by nearly 2.5. Value Gains in the banking index approached 3 percent.
Analysts stated that after the inflation data was announced in the USA yesterday, expectations for tightening in monetary policies were postponed and this situation supported the stock markets.
In technical terms, analysts stated that the level of 1,440 stands out as the resistance and the level of 1,390 is in the support position for the BIST 100 index.
