BIST 100 Index Closed Tuesday With An Increase

BIST 100 index closed Tuesday with an increase. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul gained 2.27 percent and finished the day with 1,391.64 points.

At the end of the day, the total transaction volume in the BIST 100 index, which increased by 30.89 points compared to the previous closing, was recorded as 12.9 billion liras. At the close, the banking index gained 1.88 percent, while the holding index gained 1.92 percent. Among the sector indices, metal was the main industry with 5.04 percent, while the most decline was recorded on sports with 1.24 percent. After the Federal Reserve's (FED) did not make any changes in the interest rates and asset purchase program in line with the expectations yesterday, and the statements of FED Chairman Jerome Powell were evaluated as dovish. Domestic markets started the day with a positive outlook, it was observed that purchases gained strength after the announcements made by Şahap Kavcıoğlu, Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT). Kavcıoğlu stated that they increased their inflation expectations for the end of 2021 from 12.2 percent to 14.1 percent, while they also increased their year-end food inflation expectations from 13 percent to 15 percent. Following these developments, the BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul hit 1,393.37, the highest level since July 6, while the strong course in the industrial index played an important role in this rise. Analysts stated that the data agenda will be followed tomorrow, mainly foreign trade statistics in the country, growth in Germany and the Euro Zone abroad, and personal income and expenditures in the USA.
