BIST 100 Index Started The Day With Loss

BIST 100 index started the day with a loss. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul decreased by 0.60 percent and opened the day with 1,383.25 points.

At the beginning of the day, the BIST 100 index, which lost 8.38 points and 0.60 percent compared to the previous close, fell to 1,383.25 points. While the banking index depreciated by 0.41 percent at the opening, the holding index depreciated by 0.44 percent. Among the sector indices, sports were the highest earner with 0.16%, while the most decline was recorded on communication with 2.12 percent. Yesterday, the BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul gained 2.27 percent with the positive divergence of Turkish lira assets and ended the day with 1,391.64 points. Analysts stated that the domestic markets, which were positive yesterday with the expectations that expansionary monetary policies will continue, started the day negatively due to the concerns about the increasing number of coronavirus cases and the decreases exceeding 1 percent in the Asian stock markets. It was stated that today, foreign trade statistics in the country, Gross Domestic Product in Germany and the Eurozone, and personal income and expenditures in the USA will be closely monitored. In technical terms, analysts stated that the level of 1.340 stands out as support, and the levels of 1.400 and 1.420 are in the resistance position for the BIST 100 index.
