BIST 100 Index Closed Wednesday With an Increase
BIST 100 index closed Wednesday with an increase. BIST 100 index gained 1.58 percent in Borsa Istanbul and ended the day at 1,407.46 points.
At the end of the day, the total transaction volume in the
BIST 100 index, which increased by 21.85 points compared to the previous closing, was recorded as 11.3 billion liras.
At the close, the banking index gained 2.26 percent, while the holding index gained 1.01 percent. Among the sector indices, metal was the main industry with the highest gain of 3.83 percent, while the most decline was recorded on securities and investment partnerships with 1.39 percent.
Analysts said that the global stock markets are moving with buyers, as the opinion that the Chinese company Evergrande will not affect the financial stability of China and the risk perception that has improved relatively before the US Federal Reserve's (FED) interest rate decision today.
Stating that the Fed's interest rate decision in the USA and the press conference of FED Chairman Jerome Powell will be at the focal point of the markets tonight, analysts said that the interest rate decision to be announced by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) at the Monetary Policy Committee meeting tomorrow, and the interest rate decision to be announced in the UK, especially the Central Bank's interest rate decision and the Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) data to be announced will be followed closely.
In technical terms, it was stated that level of 1.413 stood out as resistance and the level of 1,350 is in a position of support for the
BIST 100 index.
