BIST 100 Index Ends Wednesday with a Decline
BIST 100 index ends Wednesday with a decline. BIST 100 index depreciated by 0.78 in Borsa Istanbul and ended the day with 1,431.31 points.
At the end of the day, the total transaction volume in the
BIST 100 index, which decreased by 1.25 points compared to the previous closing, was recorded as 12.4 billion liras.
At the close, the banking index lost 1.38 percent value, while the holding index lost 1.51 percent. Among the sector indices, sports with 4.26 percent gained the most, while the most decline was recorded on tourism with 2.89 percent.
Analysts, in the statement published after the NATO meeting, stated that the statements about China reduced the global risk appetite, and that the fluctuation in commodity prices also caused the sector and region-based divergences to increase. It was reported that the US Federal Reserve's (FED) interest rate decision and the statements to be made by FED Chairman Jerome Powell are at the focal point of the markets tonight.
It was reminded that the interest rate decision that will be announced by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) at the Monetary Policy Committee meeting tomorrow, and the inflation in the Eurozone and weekly unemployment applications in the USA will be cloesly monitored.
In technical terms, analysts stated that the level of 1,390 is in the position of support, and the levels of 1.470 and 1.490 stands out as the resistance for the
BIST 100 index.
