BIST 100 index ends Wednesday with a fall. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul closed the day at 2,016.03 points, depreciating by 0.07 percent.
At the end of the day, the
BIST 100 index, which recorded a decrease of 1.43 points compared to the previous close, recorded a total transaction volume of 27.1 billion TL.
At the closing, the banking index depreciated by 1.26%, while the holding index depreciated by 1.49%. Among the sector indices, metal main industry gained the most with 5.26 percent, while the most decline was recorded on transportation with 2.49 percent.
Analysts stated that the news flow on the Russia-Ukraine crisis remained at the center of the agenda, adding that volatility in the stock markets may continue and investors should act cautiously.
Emphasizing that the reflections of the developments on energy prices will be critical in terms of inflation expectations and the course of monetary policies, the analysts noted that the statements of the US Central Bank and
European Central Bank officials and the Monetary Policy Committee meeting summary to be announced by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey will be monitored closely tomorrow.
In technical terms, it was stated that the level of 1.955 stands out as the support and the level of 2.050 is in a position of resistance for the BIST 100 index.
