BIST 100 Index Started the Day with a Decrease

BIST 100 index started the day with a decrease. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the day at 1,348.08 points, depreciating by 0.08 percent.

At the beginning of the day, the BIST 100 index, which lost value by 1.03 points and 0.08 percent compared to the previous close, fell to 1,348.08 points. While the banking index depreciated by 0.20 percent at the opening, the holding index depreciated by 0.03 percent. Among the sector indices, securities investment partnerships gained the most with 0.59 percent, while trade declined the most with 0.36 percent. Yesterday, BIST 100 index depreciated by 0.18 percent in Borsa Istanbul and closed with 1,349.11 points. Analysts stated that the concerns about the increasing number of coronavirus cases and its effects on the economy caused selling pressure in the markets, and said that investors are waiting for the results of FED Open Market Committee meeting, which will start today and decisions of the meeting will be announced tomorrow. It was stated that today the data agenda is calm in the country, and company financial results will be followed abroad, especially the USA durable goods orders and consumer confidence index. In technical terms, analysts stated that the level of 1.320 is in the support position and the level of 1.400 stands out as the resistance for the BIST 100 index.
