BIST 100 Index Started The Holiday with a Decline
BIST 100 index started the holiday with a decline. In Borsa Istanbul, BIST 100 index lost 0.86 percent and closed the day at 1,351.59 points.
While the
BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul decreased by 11.69 points compared to the previous close, the total transaction volume was recorded as 3.6 billion TL.
Banking index depreciated by 1.19 percent, while the holding index depreciated by 0.60 percent. Among the sector indices, the most profitable investment company with 1.55 percent, while the highest decline was recorded on transportation with 2.24 percent.
Borsa Istanbul, which closed at 12:40 today, will be reopened on Monday, July 26, after the Eid al-Adha and weekend holidays.
Analysts stated that increasing coronavirus (Covid-19) cases, inflation concerns and uncertainties regarding monetary policies, as well as the decreasing risk appetite on a global scale and the upward trend in exchange rates, negatively affected the stock markets.
