BIST 100 Index Started Tuesday With A Decline

BIST 100 index started Tuesday with a decline. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul lost value by 0.09 percent and started the day with 1,371.96 points.

At the beginning of the day, the BIST 100 index, which lost value by 1.29 points and 0.09 percent compared to the previous close, fell to 1,371.96 points. While the banking index depreciated by 0.03 percent at the opening, the holding index depreciated by 0.15 percent. Among the sector indices, the most profitable factor was financial leasing with 0.81 percent, while the most decline was recorded on transportation with 0.58 percent. Yesterday, the BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started to decline with the effect of the sales after it started the day with a gain in value. The BIST 100 index, which lost 1.34 percent value, closed with 1,373.25 points. Analysts stated that the concerns about the acceleration of the spread of the delta variant seen in the coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic and the travel restrictions that came to the agenda in parallel with this put pressure on the share markets. Emphasizing that stock-based movements and volatility may increase, analysts said that today, the economic confidence index in the country, inflation in Germany, consumer confidence index data in the Eurozone and the USA, as well as the statements of the European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde and the officials of the US Central Bank will be closely monitored. In technical terms, it was stated that in case of persistence below 1,385 points in the BIST 100 index, the level of 1,360 would be followed as support, and the level of 1,400 would become resistance.
