BIST 100 Index Started Wednesday With A Rise on August 18

BIST 100 index started Wednesday with a rise on August 18. BIST 100 index gained 0.28 percent in Borsa Istanbul and started the day with 1,465.81 points.

At the beginning of the day, the BIST 100 index, which increased by 4.13 points and 0.28 percent compared to the previous close, reached 1,465.18 points. While the banking index gained 0.54 percent at the opening, the holding index gained 0.31 percent. Securities investment partnership was the highest earner among the sector indices with 1.15 percent, while it was observed that no sector index lost. Despite the decreasing risk appetite in global markets, BIST 100 index continued to diverge positively in Borsa Istanbul yesterday and recorded its highest level in 2 months with 1,461.69 points, increasing by 0.44 percent at the close. Analysts said that after the US Federal Reserve (FED) Chairman Jerome Powell's statements that drew attention to the uncertainties regarding the economic course, the eyes were turned to the reports of the FED Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting held on July 27-28. In addition, analysts stated that investors are looking for more clarity on how economic uncertainties will reflect on monetary policies. It was stated that today, the developments in the loan debt provided by the private sector from abroad, inflation in the Eurozone and housing data in the USA will be closely monitored today. In technical terms, analysts stated that the level of 1,470 is in the position of resistance and the level of 1,440 stands out as the support for the BIST 100 index.
