BIST 100 Index Started Wednesday With Gains

BIST 100 index started Wednesday with gains. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the day at 1,974.17 points with an increase of 0.22 percent.

At the beginning of the day, the BIST 100 index, which gained 4.27 points and 0.22 percent compared to the previous close, rose to 1,974.17 points. While the banking index gained 0.21% at the opening, the holding index gained 0.29%. Among the sector indices, financial leasing and factoring with 0.69 percent was the highest earner, while the most decline was recorded on tourism with 1.38 percent. Meanwhile, Borsa Istanbul announced that the up-step rule will be applied in short selling transactions in the stocks in the BIST 50 index in today's session. The BIST 100 index closed the day at 1,969.91 points, gaining 1.22 percent in value after following a purchase-heavy course yesterday. Analysts stated that the risk perception in global stock markets increased with the intensification of the war between Russia and Ukraine, and noted that the news flow on the subject continued to be determinant on investor decisions. Analysts pointed out that oil prices continued to rise due to increasing geopolitical risks and problems on the supply side, and stated that stock and sector-based effects should be monitored due to cost pressure. It was stated that today, along with the statements of the US Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, unemployment in Germany, Consumer Price Index (CPI) in the Euro Zone and ADP private sector employment data in the USA will be monitored closely. In technical terms, it was stated that the levels of 1.980 and 2.010 are in the resistance position, and the levels of 1.930 and 1.870 as the support for the BIST 100 index.
