Automotive Distributors Association: ''We are Faced with Waiting Times''
Ali Haydar Bozkurt, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Automotive Distributors Association (ADA), noted that there are waiting lists for some models despite the increasing automobile prices and said, "Although automobile prices have reached a surprising level compared to a few years ago, we are faced with waiting periods in automobile purchases with high demand, although it varies from brand to brand."
According to the Automotive Distributors' Association (ADA), which evaluates the current developments in the automotive sector; announced the number of light commercial and automobile sales in the first month of the year.
The total automobile and light commercial vehicle market in Turkey decreased by 9.3 percent in the first 6 months of the year compared to the same period of the previous year and was recorded as 357 thousand 904 units. In the said period, automobile sales decreased by 10.3 percent to 278 thousand 282 units and the light commercial vehicle market decreased by 5.6 percent to 79 thousand 622 units.
ADA Chairman of the Board of Directors Ali Haydar Bozkurt said,
"We are going through an inflationary environment with the continuation of the problems experienced last year, and the problems in price stability continue with the multiplier effect of exchange rates and taxes. Although automobile prices have reached a staggering level compared to a few years ago, we are facing waiting periods for automobile purchases due to high demand, although this varies from brand to brand. This shows us that the automobile, being mobile, is really a necessity. Although there are month-to-month relaxations in some models of some brands, it seems that the sector-wide problems will continue, because everyone needs to be mobile."
