BIST 100 Closed Tuesday With A Fall
BIST 100 index closed Tuesday with a fall. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul closed the day at 2,079.38 points, depreciating by 0.44 percent.
At the end of the day, the total transaction volume in the
BIST 100 index, which decreased by 9.11 points compared to the previous close, was recorded as 33.3 billion liras.
At the closing, the banking index gained 0.73 percent, while the holding index lost 0.71 percent. Among the sector indices, sports earned the most with 7.01 percent, and the most decline was recorded on communication with 2.42 percent.
Analysts stated that the war between Russia and Ukraine continues to be the main risk factor in the stock markets, and noted that volatility remained high before the US Federal Reserve's (Fed) decisions tomorrow, which is preparing to increase interest rates after more than 3 years.
Stating that the
Fed is expected to increase interest rates by 25 basis points in bond markets, analysts stated that during the week, the interest decisions of central banks in England, Japan and Turkey will also be in the focus of investors.
It was stated that the housing price index in the country, retail sales in the USA and industrial production in Japan will be monitored closely tomorrow.
In technical terms, it was stated that the level of 1.950 stands out as the support, and the levels of 2.090 and 2.130 are in a position of resistance for the BIST 100 index.
