BIST 100 Index Closed Monday with a Record
BIST 100 index closed Monday with a record. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul renewed its closing record by completing the day at 1,702.49 points with a 3.91 percent increase in value.
At the end of the day, the total transaction volume in the
BIST 100 index, which increased by 63.99 points compared to the previous close, was recorded as 33.5 billion TL.
At the close, the banking index gained 9.74 percent and recorded its best daily performance since September 19, 2013, while the holding index gained 5.01 percent. Among the sector indices, banking was the most profitable, while the most decline was recorded on informatics with 0.39 percent.
The BIST 100 index, which followed a positive course throughout the day, led by bank stocks, completed the day with a 3.91 percent gain in value, bringing the closing record to 1,702.49 points.
Analysts reported that banking shares rose sharply after Garanti BBVA's main shareholder Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria announced that it would make a voluntary takeover offer for the whole of Garanti BBVA. While the share price of Garanti BBVA increased by 9.92 percent to 11.63 liras, it also reached its highest level since February 13, 2020.
Stating that strong purchases were also effective in other bank and holding shares after Garanti BBVA shares hit the ceiling, analysts said that the optimism in the stock market may continue tomorrow.
While it was stated that tomorrow, the growth in the Eurozone, industrial production and retail sales in the USA will be monitored closely, it was pointed out that the statements of the US and European central bank officials could also be determinative on the direction of the markets.
In technical terms, it was stated that the level of 1,720 is in a position of resistance and the level of 1,640 stands out as the support for the
BIST 100 index.
