BIST 100 Index Started This Week With A Fall
BIST 100 index started this week with a fall. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the week at 1,918.31 points with a decrease of 1.75 percent.
At the beginning of the day, the
BIST 100 index, which lost value by 34.09 points and 1.75 percent compared to the previous close, decreased to 1,918.31 points.
While the banking index depreciated by 1.07 percent at the opening, the holding index depreciated by 2.82 percent. While all sector indices started the day with a decline, most decline was recorded on tourism with 6.88 percent.
Meanwhile,
Borsa Istanbul announced that the up-step rule will be applied in short selling transactions in the stocks in the BIST 50 index in today's session.
BIST 100 index gained 5.46 percent on Friday, closing at 1,952.40 points. Despite the rapid rise in question, the index decreased by 3.94 percent on a weekly basis due to the increasing global tension.
Analysts said that the increasing uncertainty after Russia's attack on Ukraine caused sharp fluctuations in the markets, and that the developments on the subject continued to be decisive on pricing.
It was stated that today, the fourth quarter growth of 2021 and the foreign trade balance in January, wholesale stocks in the USA and the Chicago Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) and Dallas Fed manufacturing index data will be monitored closely.
In technical terms, it was stated that the level of 1,870 is in a position of support and the level of 1,980 stands out as the resistance for the BIST 100 index.
