BIST 100 Started Monday With An Increase

BIST 100 index started Monday with an increase. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the week at 1,902.35 points with an increase of 0.59 percent.

At the beginning of the day, the BIST 100 index, which gained 11.07 points and 0.59 percent compared to the previous close, rose to 1,902.35 points. While the banking index gained 0.04 percent at the opening, the holding index gained 0.65 percent. Among the sector indices, chemistry, petroleum and plastics were the highest earners with 0.98 percent, while the most decline was recorded on securities investment partnerships with 0.53 percent. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul closed at 1,891.28 points, gaining 4.76 percent on Friday after the sharp declines seen in the first half of last week. In the meantime, the upward step rule in short selling transactions applied since December 20 in the stocks in the BIST 50 index will continue today. Also today, there will be no trading on the London stock exchange due to the Christmas holiday. Analysts stated that in the stock markets, which started the day with a mixed course with concerns about the Omicron variant, a low volume and calm course is expected this week due to the weak data agenda and investors' combination of Christmas and New Year's holidays. Analysts stated that the balancing process in the exchange and share markets continues in the domestic market. It was noted that today, domestic capacity utilization and real sector confidence index, Dallas Fed manufacturing activity index in the USA will be monitored closely. In technical terms, it was stated that the level of 1.930 is in a position of resistance and the level of 1.840 stands out as the support for the BIST 100 index.
