How Will the Short Work System Work in the New Term?
How will the short work system work in the new term? How will the implementation of new restrictions be reflected in business life?
As it is known, with the increase in the number of cases in the new type of coronavirus epidemic, new measures have also come to the agenda. The implementation of new measures as of yesterday brought to mind the question of what the new working hours would be.
According to the news in Hürriyet, with the restriction of the activities of many businesses, especially restaurants and cafes, and the closure of some of them, due to the coronavirus, the employees in the service sector again entered the period of
short work and / or unpaid leave.
While the dismissal ban is still ongoing, the contract cannot be terminated except for the closure of the workplace, termination of the business, and failure to comply with the rules of ethics and goodwill. Instead, the employer gives the employee unpaid leave or can use the short work allowance.
The employee, who is on unpaid leave, is paid 1177 TL gross and 1168 TL net monthly from the unemployment insurance fund. Since October, the number of employees who have been included in the scope of short work has decreased to 927 thousand. 540 thousand people were on unpaid leave. Now, with the introduction of new measures, it is thought that the number of employees on short work and unpaid leave this week will increase.
Who Can Re-Apply for the Short Work?
