In the past Musk was considering selling the company to the Apple
The head of the American manufacturer of electric vehicles Tesla, Elon Musk, stated that in the past he was considering selling the company to Apple.
However, according to him, the head of Apple was not interested in the meeting.
Musk reacted to the latest information that Apple is working on the development of its own electric car, and wants to start production in 2024.
According to the AP agency, Musk wrote on Twitter that at a time when Tesla was in trouble, he turned to Apple boss Tim Cook to "discuss the possibility of
Apple taking over Tesla, for a tenth of its value today." He added, "Cook refused to attend the meeting."
Tesla's boss said Cook asked for a meeting "during the darkest days of the Model 3 program." Back in 2018, Tesla had difficulty achieving its production targets with the Model 3 and was unable to make a profit.
Since then, however, the situation has changed dramatically. After years of losses, Tesla is steadily recording its quarterly profit and its car deliveries are growing. Its shares have grown by a staggering 665 percent this year alone and have become the most valuable carmaker in the world.
Tesla's market value was $ 616 billion (€ 503.31 billion) at the end of Tuesday's trading. On the other hand Musk offered less than $ 62 billion to Apple for Tesla. Apple did not respond to the information.
