New Giorgia Meloni Era in Italy
Italy's far-right Giorgia Meloni was sworn in on Saturday, becoming Italy's first female prime minister.

Brothers of Italy Party (FdI), known for her harsh rhetoric in Italian politics, became the country's 'first female' prime minister, as well as the 'first far-right' prime minister since the fascist leader Benito Mussolini.
The general elections in Italy were won by the far-right Brothers of Italy (FdI) led by Giorgia Meloni and the right-wing alliance she was part of. With 50.8 million voters eligible to vote, the turnout was 63.9 percent,
"the lowest turnout in the history of general elections in Italy." as the new Prime Minister.
The new Prime Minister Meloni is known for always being anti-drug and anti-abortion, although she insists that abortion should not be banned. Meloni has called on the European Union to impose a naval blockade to stop mass migration and boats from North Africa, and has taken a tough and combative stance against abortion and "LGBT".
Meloni also makes no secret of his opposition to Turkey's membership of the European Union (EU).
