Number of Companies in DAX Index Increased to 40
Number of companies in the DAX Index increased to 40. It has been reported that the number of members in the index has been increased from 30 to 40.
Germany's
DAX Index has made its biggest adjustment since its launch in 1988.
After
DAX's decision to increase the number of its members from 30 to 40, German automaker Porsche and sportswear brand Puma were included in the country's leading DAX Index.
Other new members include aircraft manufacturer Airbus and online fashion retailer Zalando.
With the said regulation, a regulation was brought for companies to show that they were profitable for two years in order to be among the members. It has been announced that the changes will come into effect on September 20, 2021.
While market commentators stated that a larger index means more diversity and potentially more stability for investors, it was stated that the Wirecard AG scandal was behind the reform plan.
